Habitat for Humanity wall raising Saturday

WILLIAMS — Habitat for Humanity is hosting a Dedication and Wall Raising on Saturday, August 15th at 8:30 a.m. for the Windham family house. The site is 910 Hereford Drive in Williams.

Attendees can congratulate the family and leave a “Forever Message” on the newly raised wall. Anyone wishing to help further can stay and help paint the siding and trim until 3:30. Lunch will be served.

Habitat for Humanity Grand Opry Night This Friday

grand-opryWILLIAMS – Habitat for Humanity will hold their annual Grand Opry Night fundraiser this Friday, April 10 starting at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Williams Rodeo Barn on Rodeo Road. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

The music will be provided by the William Opry Band and the event features live and silent auctions, raffles, door prizes and more. Hot dogs, soda and water will also be available.

The cost is $3 for students and seniors, $6 per adult or $15 for a family of 4 or more.

Three fundraising events this weekend

WILLIAMS – This weekend a fashion show will be held at the Sultana Theater beginning at 6pm on Saturday. Habitat for Humanity and KZBX radio will be holding fundraisers.

On Friday October 10, Amanda’s Beauty Box and 66 Boutique will host a Runway Fashion Show at the Sultana Theater on Route 66. The show starts at 6pm and the cost is $10. The show includes appetizers and champagne and fun things to try. There will be a raffle for prizes. A DJ will provide music after the show. The proceeds benefit Williams Meant to Rescue. From 6:30 to 9 p.m., Williams Habitat for Humanity will hold its annual Fall Opry Night Friday night. Music will be provided by the Williams Opry Band at the rodeo barn located across from the hardware store at the corner of Rodeo and Airport roads. The cost for the event is $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. The event includes a cake walk, door prizes, raffles, and valuable auction items.

On Saturday October 11, KZBX 92.1 will be holding a yard sale to help finance the operation of the not-for-profit station. The sale will be held at the First Baptist Church parking lot at 629 W. Grant Avenue across the street from the Safeway parking lot. The event will run from 8am to 3pm. Donations for the event may be dropped off on Friday October 10 from noon to 5pm.

Grand Opry for Habitat for Humanity.

WILLIAMS – Habitat for Humanity will hold their Grand Opry at the Rodeo Barn this Friday, April 11 from 6:30 to 9 pm. The evening of music, fun and dinner will benefit the activities of the Williams Habitat for Humanity.

This annual fundraiser will feature country music with special guests Aquilla Larson and Caroline Barlow. Events include dancing, raffle, door prizes and cake walk. Hotdogs, soda, and water will be on sale, but popcorn will be available free. The Kiwanis club of Williams will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 pm.

Rain and snow possible Monday

buckskinner-20130403 061The long-range forecast indicates a beautiful weekend for fishing and hiking with temperatures in the upper 60s dropping to only the upper 30s at night. Feel free to take in the Habitat for Humanity Opry night at the rodeo barn Friday night or the Egg Race on Saturday to benefit the Williams Aquatic Center.

In fact you should take in the great weather this weekend which gives way to possible rain and snow and cooler temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. The temperatures, though, are only expected to drop to the upper 50s. The weather is expected to clear by Wednesday.

Habitat for Humanity Opry night this Friday

The tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and students and $15 for a family of four or more. Water, sodas and hotdogs will be on sale for the event.

The event includes live auctions and door prizes. There is also a raffle in which you will be able to place tickets for specific prizes that you want to win. The price of raffle tickets is $1 each or six ticket for $5.

President Pam Hendrickson said that the proceeds benefit the Habitat for Humanity which is still working toward a new home for the next family.

Habbitat for Humanity looking for owner of new house.

WILLIAMS—Habitat for Humanity will be holding an orientation session on Sunday, February 17 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 850 W. Grant next to Safeway. They are looking for the next family to receive a house they hope to build this year.

At the session you can fill out an application to put you on the list of the family to receive the house. Households with income less than 60% of Williams median income qualify to get on the list. The focus is for someone in the 20% to 60% range.
