Balls for Dogs Golf Tournament next month

WILLIAMS — The Balls for Dogs golf tournament will be held at the Elephant Rocks Golf Course next month, May 16 to help build the Save-Meant to Rescue shelter.

The tournament will include:

Save-Meant to Rescue has a new way to give

smtrWILLIAMS — If you shop Amazon, you are probably happy with the great selection of books, videos and other products you receive. Now you can add donations to the Save Meant to Rescue shelter project in Williams.

Save Meant to Rescue has been working to build a no-kill shelter project in Williams. The City of Williams recently donated a portion of property to the project.

The project has recently signed up with the Amazon Smile project which donates a half-percent of your purchase to charitable organizations.

To participate you can go to the Amazon Smile web site to sign up.

Save-MTR enchilada sale on now

save-mtr-web-smWILLIAMS –Save Meant To Rescue is currently holding an Enchilada sale. The cheese or cheese and onion enchiladas may be purchased for $10 a dozen by calling 928-635-4726. Orders must be place by Monday the 24th at 5 p.m.

Save-MTR will also hold their 11th annual Holiday Craft Show at the Sultana Theater at 301 W. Route 66 in downtown Williams. The event will be held on November 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be over 35 vendors and you can have pictures of your pets, family and friends taken, as well.

These efforts benefit building a shelter in Williams on Ellen Way. The site was approved by the City of Williams at the last council meeting. Donations can be made any time at their web site.

Three fundraising events this weekend

WILLIAMS – This weekend a fashion show will be held at the Sultana Theater beginning at 6pm on Saturday. Habitat for Humanity and KZBX radio will be holding fundraisers.

On Friday October 10, Amanda’s Beauty Box and 66 Boutique will host a Runway Fashion Show at the Sultana Theater on Route 66. The show starts at 6pm and the cost is $10. The show includes appetizers and champagne and fun things to try. There will be a raffle for prizes. A DJ will provide music after the show. The proceeds benefit Williams Meant to Rescue. From 6:30 to 9 p.m., Williams Habitat for Humanity will hold its annual Fall Opry Night Friday night. Music will be provided by the Williams Opry Band at the rodeo barn located across from the hardware store at the corner of Rodeo and Airport roads. The cost for the event is $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. The event includes a cake walk, door prizes, raffles, and valuable auction items.

On Saturday October 11, KZBX 92.1 will be holding a yard sale to help finance the operation of the not-for-profit station. The sale will be held at the First Baptist Church parking lot at 629 W. Grant Avenue across the street from the Safeway parking lot. The event will run from 8am to 3pm. Donations for the event may be dropped off on Friday October 10 from noon to 5pm.

Santa visits the recreation center and Kiwanis Dinner follows.

WILLIAMS—Santa will be busy in Williams on the 15th and 16th with Santa’s World of Wonders on Saturday and the Kiwanis annual dinner on Sunday. In addition the Save-Meant to Rescue organization will host a wine and beer tasting event to benefit the Williams animal rescue effort.

On the 15th, Santa will visit the Williams Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where there will be games, prizes, treats and family fun.

At 6 p.m. the animal rescue group Save-Meant To Rescue will host a wine and craft beer tasting event with hors d’oeuvres and live music at the historic “Yellow House” near Safeway. Tickets are $30 and are available thru MTR members or call 928-635-1571

The annual Kiwanis Dinner will be held December 16th at Doc Holiday’s in the Holiday Inn. The event will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Kiwanis holds the annual event with a visit from Santa and prizes for the kids. Everyone is invited.
