WWII memorial barricaded again

WASHINGTON DC—Less than twenty-four hours after the Million Veterans March in Washington tore down barricades blocking the World War II Memorial, the cash-strapped administration that cannot afford to keep them open found the money to have the barricades put back in place.

The veterans, which did not number a million, tore down the barricades and carried them past the White House.

The World War II Memorial was built with the help of public service announcements by actor Tom Hanks. Hanks played the role of Captain Miller in the hugely successful World War II film Saving Private Ryan. The advertisements appeared around the time of the 1998 film.

In an interview on YouTube, Hanks applauded the efforts of the veterans who re-opened the memorial if only for the weekend. At an event for his new film, Captain Phillips, Hanks said, “Good for the veterans. Good. Go see it. We should all have access to them all the time. Sorry that they didn’t have it.”

He joked, “Did they assault it with helicopters? Landing craft? Did they bust through in a jeep? How did they do it?”

Sadly the administration could find the money to re-barricade the memorial after veterans left.

Court says Obama appointments violate constitution

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama violated the Constitution when he bypassed the Senate last year to appoint three members of the National Labor Relations Board, a federal appeals court ruled Friday in a far-reaching decision that could severely limit a chief executive’s powers to make recess appointments.

The decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit marked a victory for Republicans and business groups critical of the labor board. If it stands, it could invalidate hundreds of board decisions over the past year, including some that make it easier for unions to organize.

When Obama filled the vacancies on Jan. 4, 2012, Congress was on an extended holiday break. But GOP lawmakers gaveled in for a few minutes every three days just to prevent Obama from making recess appointments. The White House argued that the pro forma sessions – some lasting less than a minute – were a sham.

Transparency not an option?

The Internet is abuzz with the story that the January 20th swearing in of Barrack Obama may be a private affair. Apparently the word is that Obama intends not to allow the media that installed him to attend the ceremony. Alana Goodman of Commentary Magazine reported, “Politico reports that Obama’s second inaugural oath for the ‘most transparent administration in history’ might be administered privately, without any media present.”

The web site Politico reported a quote from the NBC News White House correspondent. “Call me shell-shocked. I’m stunned that this is even an issue; it boggles the mind,” Chuck Todd told POLITICO. “This is not their oath, this is the constitutional oath. It’s not for them. It’s for the public, the citizens of the United Sates. It just boggles the mind. How is this even a debate?”

In his original swearing in ceremony, there were mistakes in the oath of office that he took. Some said that mistake nullified the oath causing another swearing in ceremony to be conducted in the White House in private.

According to the Politico office, the White House intends a public ceremony after the private ceremony. Apparently they intend to reverse the process from the first gaffed ceremony.

The excuse of the White House is alleged to be that January 20th falls on a Sunday, they will hold the ceremony privately and hold a public ceremony the following day.

“The White House Correspondents Association has reason to be concerned,” Goodman wrote in her commentary. “While Obama’s second oath of office in 2009 (if you remember, he had to do it twice) wasn’t completely closed to the media, only four reporters were allowed to attend, writes Dylan Byers.”

The Facts of the Attack in Benghazi Are Far Worse Than Reported

Matt Bruce, NMJ News

According to highly trusted sources, US Ambassador Christopher Stevens was targeted by al Qaeda of the Magreb, lured to Benghazi by al Qaeda operatives in the Libyan Security Forces, and kidnapped in the course of a diversionary attack on the consulate. He was missing for eight hours, during which time he was beaten and brutalized before he was murdered, not unlike the way that Muammar Ghadhaffi was murdered. Photographs are too graphic to reproduce here.

The Obama Administration was actually warned that “possible” attacks were looming on the 11th anniversary of September 11th as soon as September 4th during a White House Intel briefing run by National Security Advisor, Tom Donilon.

Extremely sensitive documents were taken from the Consulate in Benghazi, including lists of operatives and locations of safe houses in Libya. One of these so-called “safe house” in Benghazi, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar fire during the attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer considered to be “safe,” because of the capture of the documents. It is now assumed that a breach in security led to the attack, which was carried out on the eleventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001, al Qaeda attacks on the United States.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department received credible intelligence of the planned operation 48 hours before the attack on the Consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo. They were warned that American missions might be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on “high alert” and put their facilities and personnel in “lockdown,” under which movement is severely restricted. We now hear our US Marines in Cairo were armed with pepper gas and stun guns but no live ammunition to defend themselves in case of an armed attack per a US State Department directive.
