Colorado uses old Republican document to destroy Democracy

COLORADO — The non-elected judges of the Colorado Supreme Court on December 19 used an old Republican document to launch an attack on “democracy.” The State of Colorado—apparently oblivious to the Second Amendment to the Republican document—concentrated on the Fourteenth Amendment to the Republican Constitution to remove Donald Trump from the ballot in the first attack on their own vaunted “democracy.” They also completely ignored Section 5 of this amendment that states, “The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.” The power does not reside with the States.

There has not been one charge of “insurrection” in the mostly peaceful protests of January 6th. All defendants—whose Eighth Amendment rights were violated without protest by Colorado—were charged with misdemeanors and some felonies, but none were charged with insurrection. Nineteen of those were Colorado residents.

In fact, President Donald Trump ordered the National Guard (which is NOT a militia, but people think it is) into Washington and was told to stand down by Nancy Pelosi whom obviously did not consider it an insurrection.

In an AP article by by Nicholas Riccardi, he notes, “Dozens of lawsuits have been filed nationally to disqualify Trump under Section 3, which was designed to keep former Confederates from returning to government after the Civil War. It bars from office anyone who swore an oath to ‘support’ the Constitution and then ‘engaged in insurrection or rebellion’ against it, and has been used only a handful of times since the decade after the Civil War.”

The Fourteenth Amendment was immediately approved by Rinos whom wanted to continually punish the Democrat south after the Civil War. This in direct contrast to President Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln wanted healing and was going to issue a blanket pardon for the Rebels.

This event makes it apparent that Colorado is not concerned with supporting even Greek-style Democracy; only Russian or Chinese-style Democracy.

Williams celebrates Loss of Essential Liberty day.

Commentary by Glen Davis

.

WILLIAMS — On September 3rd, the city of Williams celebrated communism with fireworks to beat the band. They are following that up by celebrating Loss of Essential Liberty day, known euphemistically as Patriots day, with a Patriots Day parade.

The communist that started labor unions back in the 1800s could not have imagined how successful their campaign would be. In 1913 comrade Woodrow Wilson signed in the holiday that the Communist had been working for for years. That holiday was Labor Day. You know, as in workers of the world unite.

Move to the Future in 2001. September 11th when the world trade center came tumbling down. Magically, mystically a plan of over 4,000 pages appeared in Congress in October. That’s the Patriot act was born under the Bush regime. A plan that created the Department of Homeland Security that cannot seem to control the border.

I have not received a schedule for September 17th, but I imagine that will be a blow out! It will probably start with churches holding prayer services, followed by a solemn ceremony at William’s Memorial Park.

After that, Buckskinner park will be the place to go for the huge barbecue event with games and prizes. Visit the carnival along Railroad Avenue. You can probably even visit the Grand Canyon for free on that day.

Just after dark, prepare yourselves for a fireworks display that will dwarf that on “Labor” day weekend. At least 45-minutes long but probably over an hour. Don’t forget to watch your animals and keep them safe! But before that will be a parade of lights for… For…

What? you ask. You are asking what September 17 is? You are kidding, right? Why, that is Constitution day. The day we celebrate the ratification of the Constitution of the United States of America. It is printed on your calendar, isn’t it? Mexican independence day is.

Happy Flag Day and Honor America Days

NATIONAL — While listening to President Donald J. Trump speak on June 6, 2023 at North Carolina, he mentioned a few interesting things. One thing he said he would hold a year long celebration to honor America. I’m not sure, but I think I recall that he said he would start in on July 4th. I guess that is as good a day as any. Though I still cringe when people say “July 4th” instead of the appropriate “Independence Day,” July 4th was not the true Independence Day. It was the date the proclamation was issued for a vote that was taken on July 2nd. Thus, July 2nd was the date that Independence was actually declared.
36 United States Code §110 designates June 14th as Flag Day. The law “requests” that the President issue a proclamation calling on “…United States Government officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings…” The President is also supposed to urge “…the people of the United States to observe Flag Day as the anniversary of the adoption on June 14, 1777, by the Continental Congress of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.” That is the flag that has thirteen red and white stripes with stars on a blue background. That is the ONLY flag that is supposed to be displayed and honored. Whether it be the current flag with fifty stars or thirteen, it should not matter. The so-called Betsy Ross flag was, of course, the original honoring the thirteen colonies.

Most people do not know, however, that there is an actual “Pride” month celebration during this period. 36 USC §112 designates the 21-day from Flag Day to Independence day as “…a period to honor America.” 36 USC §112 (b) is a declaration in which “…Congress declares that there be public gatherings and activities during that period at which the people of the United States can celebrate and honor their country in an appropriate way.” It is not “appropriate” to loot and burn. That is not appropriate at anytime no matter what the current “administration” says. Likewise, drag queen hour and grooming of children.

What we suggest is that you take the time to review history. One thing you can do is watch the mini-series John Adams. The Patriot is another good selection (not the 1928 version). There are others; pick your favorite. You might be able to find these movies on line for free or they might be available through one of your streaming subscriptions, such as Prime or Sling.

How about doing a little study? Check out The Federalist Papers. These are the arguments by John Jay, James Madison and the first corrupt official in our government, Alexander Hamilton. Hilldale college has a free course on the Federalist Papers. I strongly recommend No. 29

You might find some interesting things on the Archive.org web site. It is packed with Public Domain videos, audio books, old magazines. Even donated video and audio from around the country; e.g. “home movies.” You might want to listen to this selection.

We hope that what ever you do to celebrate will bring you to the conclusion that you should never show your total ignorance by wishing some one a “Happy Fourth of July.” You should reply to that greeting with “Happy Independence Day” without slapping them in the face though you are very tempted to do. There is a reason that the current government wants you to celebrate the date on the calendar rather than what it represents. Be a rebel. Go ahead and say Happy Independence day.

The flag of my Country.

Stupidity on rise as political signs defaced.

WILLIAMS — Stupidity appears to be on the rise as punks emerge from their “safe spaces” to deface political signs in Williams. It is a crime to do so IAW Arizona Revised Statute 16-1019.

The Northern Arizona Gazette does NOT endorse any specific candidate. Our function is to bring you information on what they say and let you make up your own minds. The sign targeted shows which side did the defacing. We are, however, intolerant to the defacing of the signs of ANY candidate.

Of course, there is another side.

Arizona Revised Statute 16-1019. Political signs; printed materials; tampering; violation; classification

A. It is a class 2 misdemeanor for any person to knowingly remove, alter, deface or cover any political sign of any candidate for public office or in support of or opposition to any ballot measure, question or issue or knowingly remove, alter or deface any political mailers, handouts, flyers or other printed materials of a candidate or in support of or opposition to any ballot measure, question or issue that are delivered by hand to a residence for the period commencing forty-five days before a primary election and ending fifteen days after the general election, except that for a sign for a candidate in a primary election who does not advance to the general election, the period ends fifteen days after the primary election.

B. This section does not apply to the removal, alteration, defacing or covering of a political sign or other printed materials by the candidate or the authorized agent of the candidate in support of whose election the sign or materials were placed, by a person authorized by the committee in support of or opposition to a ballot measure, question or issue that provided the sign or printed materials, by the owner or authorized agent of the owner of private property on which such signs or printed materials are placed with or without permission of the owner or placed in violation of state law or county, city or town ordinance or regulation.

C. Notwithstanding any other statute, ordinance or regulation, a city, town or county of this state shall not remove, alter, deface or cover any political sign if the following conditions are met:

1. The sign is placed in a public right-of-way that is owned or controlled by that jurisdiction.

2. The sign supports or opposes a candidate for public office or it supports or opposes a ballot measure.

3. The sign is not placed in a location that is hazardous to public safety, obstructs clear vision in the area or interferes with the requirements of the Americans with disabilities act (42 United States Code sections 12101 through 12213 and 47 United States Code sections 225 and 611).

4. The sign has a maximum area of sixteen square feet, if the sign is located in an area zoned for residential use, or a maximum area of thirty-two square feet if the sign is located in any other area.

5. The sign contains the name and telephone number or website address of the candidate or campaign committee contact person.

D. If the city, town or county deems that the placement of a political sign constitutes an emergency, the jurisdiction may immediately relocate the sign. The jurisdiction shall notify the candidate or campaign committee that placed the sign within twenty-four hours after the relocation. If a sign is placed in violation of subsection C of this section and the placement is not deemed to constitute an emergency, the city, town or county may notify the candidate or campaign committee that placed the sign of the violation. If the sign remains in violation at least twenty-four hours after the jurisdiction notified the candidate or campaign committee, the jurisdiction may remove the sign. The jurisdiction shall contact the candidate or campaign committee contact and shall retain the sign for at least ten business days to allow the candidate or campaign committee to retrieve the sign without penalty.

E. A city, town or county employee acting within the scope of the employee’s employment is not liable for an injury caused by the failure to remove a sign pursuant to subsection D of this section unless the employee intended to cause injury or was grossly negligent.

F. Subsection C of this section does not apply to commercial tourism, commercial resort and hotel sign free zones as those zones are designated by municipalities. The total area of those zones shall not be larger than three square miles, and each zone shall be identified as a specific contiguous area where, by resolution of the municipal governing body, the municipality has determined that based on a predominance of commercial tourism, resort and hotel uses within the zone the placement of political signs within the rights-of-way in the zone will detract from the scenic and aesthetic appeal of the area within the zone and deter its appeal to tourists. Not more than two zones may be identified within a municipality.

G. A city, town or county may prohibit the installation of a sign on any structure owned by the jurisdiction.

H. Subsection C of this section applies only during the period commencing seventy-one days before a primary election and ending fifteen days after the general election, except that for a sign for a candidate in a primary election who does not advance to the general election, the period ends fifteen days after the primary election.

I. This section does not apply to state highways or routes, or overpasses over those state highways or routes.

Politicized photo released by DOJ

Across the Internet, the rabid anti-Trump media are touting this photo released by the “Department of Justice” of the Mar-a-Lago raid. This photo is not available on the DOJ or FBI web site. Thus it was release directly to anti-Trump outlets that would do exactly what the FBI knew they would do. None of these outlets, of course, noted the problems with this photo.

The first thing is that anyone who has had even a passing acquaintance with service in the National Government knows that cover sheets, themselves, are unclassified. The President-elect Trump could take tons of those home and wall paper his bathroom with them. I would, of course, blast him for using tax payer paid paper for such a purpose. Since he gave his salary to charity, however, I suppose we could forgive even this. Even the rabid media had to grudgingly admit that Donald Trump was the ONLY President in history that left the office with less wealth than when he went in.

Second, they show alleged documents laying out with other papers laying over them. Kind of like the transparent affidavit released. The title of these “documents” cannot be read, thus we do not know what they are. They could be the laundry lists of Melania Trump. If these were “nuclear secrets,” they would not be single-paged documents as shown in the photo.

Third, if they are “nuclear secrets,” or pretty much any other secrets, they are almost certainly need-to-know documents. Any agent opening those documents and looking at them as well as the photographer taking the photos are in violation of the law and guilty of a felony.

The most important thing that the media did not point out about the photo is that it is another attempt of the Biden administration to stop any MAGA candidate from winning offices across the country. It is also an attempt to divert attention from the Hunter Biden laptop.

The FBI, further, says it will “with hold” any charges until after mid-term elections. This is the same reason they told Facebook to stop posts about the Hunter Biden laptop because it would influence the election. If they released the fact that they HAVE NO charges against Donald Trump, can you imagine the repercussions? They can.

What is today?

If one were to ask the average passersby what today is, they might take a hint from the flags lining the street. Oh, they might say. Today is Flag day, of course. June 14 is definitely Flag day (36 USC 110). The more learned might even say, Well it’s Flag week. Flag Week (36 USC 122) started on Sunday June 12 and will end on June 18. You will have to search far and wide to find anyone that can go much beyond that.

I hope that I have you questioning me in your mind. Just what the Sam Hill am I talking about.

Flag Day is June 14 and Flag Week is the week that contains Flag Day. There is, however, another holiday period “hidden” in this day. You certainly weren’t taught about it in school recently. I do not remember being taught about it in the 60s and 70s. It is a holiday period that – as far as my research can reveal – only one city in America acknowledges. That city is Rome, New York.

The 21-days from Flag Day to Independence Day (which is held on July 4) is Honor America Days (36 USC 112).

Now you might say to yourself, Of course THIS administration won’t recognize that. Yet, how many “Republican” administrations have transpired without any acknowledgment of this holiday?

Most do not know that September 17 is Constitution Day and the week of September 17 to September 23 is Constitution Week. Why? The proverbial “they” do not want you to know. There is no inclination from to so-called left or right to get you to honor America in anyway.

America has done some bad things. Slavery should have been abolished with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The conservative Democrat slave owners of the South at the time were too powerful and important to the Revolution. After all, Virginia was the most important colony to the cause at the time. It even provided the commanding general and the first President under the Constitution – George Washington.

It is important to recognize our faults. In 1905 George Santayana expressed this in these words, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

We hope to lead you, during this period, to reading material that is important to you. We also recommend that you pull out your copy of (or find a copy to watch) the mini-series John Adams. If you have Tubi or one of the other video apps on your phone, tablet or television stick, you can find a myriad of videos on the American revolution and American history. Read a copy of the Constitution. Even skipping all of the mathematical formulas and boring detail, you can find all sorts of interesting stuff. For example that the Federal Government is supposed to ensure that each state has a Republican form of government (Constitution, Article IV; Section 4, Clause 1). Even Wikipedia got that right. Read the Federalist Papers. You do not have to read them all. Concentrate on those that interest you (HINT: Federalist Paper No. 29 should interest you). Read the anti-Federalist arguments If the schools are going to teach you nothing, learn on your own. You have that so-called “smart” phone, use it for something smart!

Letter to Editor: Opinion by Michael Pacer

70 people were shot in Chicago this weekend, 12 died. The figures are similar in every major city that the Democrats control. In Los Angeles the liberal, Soros financed District Attorney George Gascon is ignoring the “3 Strikes laws” or enhanced sentencing for certain crimes like killing cops . In most of these high crime Democrat controlled cities they have chosen to cut police budgets and in some have defunded the police completely then wonder why crime has skyrocketed.

The Socialist Democrats have turned this country into the lawless “Old West” so perhaps it is time to handle it like the “Old West” . Since the police are not allowed to protect us or even enforce the law perhaps it’s time to try something else. In the “Old West” people enforced the law in the pistols and shotguns that they carried. The only law that they had is what they brought with them…just like now. Thank GOD for the 2nd Amendment!!!

I believe that the misguided Democrats are promoting this lawlessness to push through more “Victim disarmament” aka: “Gun Control” They must disarm the public before they can proceed with the Socialist State. In other words, they must disarm us before they can enslave us as they do in EVERY Communist country.

The bottom line is simple. If the police cannot or will not protect us, then we must be allowed to defend ourselves. If the courts will not imprison criminals, especially repeat criminals, then the citizens of this country will have to take the law into their own hands. When small Oriental women defend themselves with a firearm from racist muggers, the muggings will stop.

Until then, the chaos will continue.

How Facebook “fact checkers” skew the truth

Opinion by Glen Davis
Research credit goes to J.d. Benfer.

Facebook “fact checkers” are freaking out about a meme with JFK talking about needing a strong militia. They twist it around to say that it does not say JFK was against gun control. As J.D. Benfer pointed out in his comment, the quote says nothing about gun control. A strong Second Amendment stance, of course, IS implied by the quote.

The quote is from a speech that can be found on the President Kennedy Presidential library online:

PRESIDENT KENNEDY’S COMMEMORATIVE MESSAGE ON ROOSEVELT DAY, JANUARY 29, 1961
January 29, 1961

This year, the celebrations of Roosevelt Day has special significance for Democrats everywhere; for we celebrate not only the triumphs of the past but the opportunities of the future.

Twenty-eight years ago Franklin Roosevelt assumed the leadership of a stricken and demoralized nation. Poverty, distress and economic stagnation blanketed the land. But it was not long before the great creative energies of the New Deal had lifted America from its despair and set us on the path to new heights of prosperity, power and greatness.

Today America is the richest nation in the history of the world. Our power and influence extend around the globe. Yet the challenges and dangers which confront us are even more awesome and difficult than those that faced Roosevelt. And we too will need to summon all the energies of our people and the capacities of our leaders if America is to remain a great and free nation — if we are to master the opportunities of the New Frontier.

The dimensions of our problems overwhelm the imagination. At home millions are unemployed and the growth of our economy has come to a virtual halt. Abroad, we are faced with powerful and unrelenting pressure which threaten freedom in every corner of the globe, and with military power so formidable that it menaces the physical survival of our own nation.

To meet these problems will require the efforts not only of our leaders or of the Democratic Party–but the combined efforts of all of our people. No one has a right to feel that, having entrusted the tasks of government to new leaders in Washington, he can continue to pursue his private comforts unconcerned with America’s challenges and dangers. For, if freedom is to survive and prosper, it will require the sacrifice, the effort and the thoughtful attention of every citizen.

In my own native state of Massachusetts, the battle for American freedom was begun by the thousands of farmers and tradesmen who made up the Minute Men — citizens who were ready to defend their liberty at a moment’s notice. Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom. The cause of liberty, the cause of America, cannot succeed with any lesser effort.

It is this effort and concern which makes up the New Frontier. And it is this effort and concern which will determine the success or failure not only with this Administration, but of our nation itself.

The quote on the meme is clearly correct.

So you need to watch for this. When Facebook “fact checkers” cannot deny something outright, they twist it around.

Did the founders believe the same? Did they actually add the Second Amendment to prevent the government from becoming tyrannical and acting in opposition to the Constitution? I refer to Federalist Paper No. 29 written by the hip-hop guy Alexander Hamilton. The non-President on the ten-dollar bill whom is not being removed from our currency.

The attention of the government ought particularly to be directed to the formation of a select corps of moderate extent, upon such principles as will really fit them for service in case of need. By thus circumscribing the plan, it will be possible to have an excellent body of well-trained militia, ready to take the field whenever the defense of the State shall require it. This will not only lessen the call for military establishments, but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens. This appears to me the only substitute that can be devised for a standing army, and the best possible security against it, if it should exist.

I could go on, but it is clear that the Second Amendment was not written to protect hunters. It did not protect muskets. The Second Amendment:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

It states that the right to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. That means I keep and bear any arm in the arsenal of the United States military unhindered, so long as I am doing so lawfully, i.e. not robbing banks, killing people, etc. Although my M1 Abrams does have to be converted to tires if I want to drive it in the streets.

The argument that the founders could not foresee the development of arms today is false. They saw the progression from swords, to cannons, to rifles. The advanced concept of “rifling,” in fact, was invented by German gunsmiths right here in the good old colonies.

With all of this said, there are certain REAL common sense restrictions that can be applied. For example if you want to hang onto a case of grenades, they could be restricted to being stored in a bunker that would prevent damage to neighbors property should they explode. You cannot just set up an ad hoc shooting range on your property unless you have enough property to prevent your shots from reaching roads and neighbors property. In other words, your right to arms cannot interfere with the rights of your neighbors.

Living a little more secure life

Popular alternatives to GMail, Facebook, Twitter and other spyware programs.

Privacy and freedom of speech, today, is on the minds of everyone. The group in the light who wants to be able to express themselves and communicate privately amongst themselves. Then there are the dark tyrants who want to suppress your rights and crush you. The tyrants, by the way, probably use some of the methods discussed in this article. There is even a movement by the Democratic party apartheid movement to “cleanse” Trump supporters, as expressed by a person associated with ABC. Democrats have expressed a desire to “hunt down” Trump supporters after the election. One Democrat even put out a video expressly threatening Trump supporters which was applauded by Facebook, Twitter and the other Silicon Valley crowd.

In this article, we briefly review some of the alternatives to Facebook, Twitter, Google and other spyware companies. Bear in mind, however, nothing is perfect. If you decide to move to MeWe, for example, you can expect that government spies will have accounts and track things you say just as they do on Facebook, though the alternatives make that a little more difficult. Also remember that alternative sites are getting hammered with new sign ups daily. So they may work slower especially during peak use. Also be aware that we have not tried all of these suggestions. Many of these were suggested at a recent Republican meeting I attended and I have added others that I have used. So please check the links and carefully read their web sites. Ask questions of more tech savvy people you know and email the company if you want more information.

It should also be noted that we are not presenting these ideas for people to use illegally. And by that we mean in deference to the Constitution of the United States of America. There are hundreds of thousands of laws on the books that do not pass constitutional muster. We could care less if you violate those. If, however, your are BLM or Anitifa or other domestic terrorist bent on destroying the United States and its foundational law, we hope you get caught. If you are a pervert using these methods to harm children we hope you are caught and sent to prison for the rest of your natural life. We are presenting this material for those United States citizens who want to live their lives as the founders intended.

Facebook

If you are tired of Facebook jail for posting something about Biden and the election when you have just seen a Hollyweed personality holding up the severed head of Trump, you might want to consider the alternative. I used to use the Teapartycommunity.com, but it apparently no longer exist. The current Facebook alternative seems to be MeWe.com.

I have been on MeWe since October last year. MeWe carries no ads and depends on the support of the people using it. You can set up one personal page and use it for free. Each additional page you want to set up costs $1.99 a month. You can also join as a Premium Member which gives you access to other features of the site, such as special emojis, online phone and other features. Even with Premium Membership, however, you still have to pay $1.99 a month for additional pages. We found this out when we started the Northern Arizona Gazette page on MeWe. We did find it worth the $1.99 a month to get news like this out there since Facebook will probably censor this on our page.

When I say there are no ads, there are no corporate ads. If you are using it free, every so often when you sign in you get an ad suggesting you upgrade to Premium. You can cancel it and move on unmolested. There are problems with this platform as with any. When I use Facebook, however, their spyware actually locks up my system after a time. I have not had that problem using MeWe.

Browser

There are two browser alternatives to those spyware programs built into Microsoft and Apple. If you are using Windows 10, you cannot remove and eliminate Microsoft Edge. You can download and use alternatives.

The first, and most popular, is Firefox. I have used it for years on the computer and my Android phone. While it is more secure than using built in browsers, some red flags have popped up in recent updates. You have less control over what comes up when you open a new tab. When you start to type something in, you get a list of the deep state companies that are interested in suppressing your liberties.

Lately I’ve been using Brave. I do not know if it is more secure, but my computer does not seem to get locked up by the Facebook spyware. It seems to run smoother like Firefox used to.

Another thing to consider in your quest for a more secure Internet is a virtual privacy network or VPN. There are some free applications for Android (and I’m sure Apple) phones and some free services online. It is probably worth giving a monthly or annual donation to the sites as they are worth it. What they do is, basically, reroute your Internet through other servers around the world so that it looks as though your are visiting the site from another location. It makes it harder for hackers and others to know where you are accessing the Internet from. The security company Lifelock offers it as part of their Norton utilities package.

Search Engines

Google tracks your moves on the Internet just like Facebook. When you make a search, they record it and share that information with what ever nefarious group they choose. There are two alternatives to Google that do not keep a record of your searches. Startpage.com and Duckduckgo.

I have used Startpage since it was called Ixquick back in the day. It eventually morphed into Startpage with several more features. It uses the Google database to provide search results, but does not keep a record of your searches. One of the interesting newer features is anonymous viewing of web sites. If you click on the feature, it blocks cookies from the site so they do not know you are there. This feature, however, could cause difficulty accessing some of the features of the site.

The other that is growing in popularity is Duckduckgo. Like Startpage, they do not record your searches, send targeted ads or track you in privacy mode. I discovered that Duckduckgo has a privacy browser for Android phones although not available for computer. When you do a search in the phone app, you get results like any other search engine. When you click on it, it tries to make the site visitation more secure. I have not studied exactly how, but I know that YouTube videos, for example, come up with just the video you want and no popups. I have started to use it over the Firefox browser app.

Emails

There are two ways to receive emails. One is through a mail reader, such as Thunderbird–which is not secure–or through accessing a web page, such as you do with GMail or Microsoft mail. Also not secure. There are two web based alternatives; Hushmail and Protonmail.

Hushmail is in Canada where privacy laws are different. You had to download Java to make the security work. I am not sure what it requires now as I have not used it for sometime. It is web based but allows you to pass encrypted messages. You can send messages to a person who does not use Hushmail by using a question/answer passcode.

The other is Protonmail. This system was developed by scientist of CERN who were looking to find a way to pass secure messages. This system is in servers in Switzerland where it is much harder to get legal access to the servers. Protonmail claims, however, that with their encryption, even they cannot access the email. There is also an Android phone app for Protonmail.

Both of these services give you one email account free, but add extra services for donations. For example, more email addresses with Protonmail and a vanity email domain with Hushmail. Also, for a price, you get secure forms with Hushmail to allow you to get personal information securely. Both of these are web based. So if you are currently using a web based email such as Gmail, these should not be that big of a transition for you. Used in conjunction with a VPN, any IP address logging would show the email came from another location.

Twitter replacement

The big Twitter alternative was Parler and it was doing well. So well, in fact, that it was shut down by the Amazon. Amazon is the big tech company that provides ALexa designed to spy on your home. They were providing web services for Parler but cut them off on January 10. I, as quickly, “cleansed” my Amazon account. The CEO is still looking for an alternative Internet service provider so they should be back.

The other alternative is Gab. The advantage of Gab is that they have been around longer and have their own servers. I signed up last night and noticed it is slow to connect. It is slow to move around the site. Since they are having thousands of people an hour flocking to the site, however, this is understandable. The problem is that I still cannot seem to get a confirmation email.

A phone app suggested along this line is Signal. Signal allows you to pass secure SMS text messages on your Android or iPhone. Signal replaces the native SMS app on your phone. To be secure, the person sending and receiving the text message must be using Signal, but you can send a text from the Signal app to one not using Signal.

How about a new operating system?

Finally, the biggest thing you can do to secure your system is to get another operating system. I’m not talking about upgrading your Windows 7 to Windows Spyware 10. I am talking about moving from Windows and Apple to Linux.

Linux operating system versions are called “distros” or distributions. There are so many companies distributing Linux that I cannot give you a definite pick for the perfect distro for you. The best advice here is start with a tech savvy friend who uses Linux and obtain advice through them.

Some provide a free version and a more expansive version for a nominal fee, usually around $50. All Linux free versions, however, give you the basic protection. Part of that protection is if you do anything, from updating to adding programs, you will have to enter your password every time. Once you download the program it is yours to use.

There are ways to use your former Windows programs with some versions. The program Wine is one way. Robolinux claims to run Windows programs natively, but I have not been able to get it loaded on a computer to find out. There are, however, so many free programs that are similar to Windows programs that you can download. There are card, dice and shoot ’em up games. There are DVD and CD burning programs and movie makers. There are programs for amateur radio and learning electronics, science and other educational programs. You can search for a list of these programs and download them via the Internet and that is why you need to enter the password every time.

Entering the password for access to the Internet, by the way, is a very paranoid security measure. If you have to enter the password for any changes, a hacker has to know the password to make any changes in your system.

There are also only a couple of anti-virus software programs. That is because Linux has been less susceptible to viruses. Of course, that changes. If you are going to use Linux for your emails, you will probably want to download a virus program such as Clam which checks emails for viruses. That is probably the quickest way to get a virus into your Linux distro.

For older people who are leery about venturing into a new learning experience, you might want to think about the studies that show keeping the mind actively learning new things may delay the onset of elderly mental disorders such as dementia. So securing your online life might be the healthy thing to do.

Summary

This article briefly touches on the more popular methods people are using for security purposes and protecting their freedom of speech. There are more, of course, and more around the corner.

What it boils down to is you. What you need to make your life feel more secure. Also make sure you are vigilant in updating programs and Linux distros that you use.

On The Eve of Battle

Editorial by Glen Davis

It appears that we are on the eve of battle. Tomorrow is January 6th. A day which will live in infamy. If I may borrow a phrase like Biden and Harris quite often do.

It appears we are going to have a fight over who will be the next President of the United States of America. It is hard to believe the overwhelming evidence of fraud in the election is just to be thrown in the trash can along with the military votes for President Trump.

Yet, I can’t help but recall President Trump’s first election when it was the Republican Party trying to dump him like the Democrats did Bernie Sanders who actually won the Democratic nomination. I recall when Republican voters almost had to take the State of Arizona to court to keep President Trump on the ballot.

Then something amazing happened. President Trump was elected. President Trump kept his promises. The economy began to flourish. All of the sudden Republicans began to run ads including the phrase “Trump Supporter.” If it didn’t include the phrase, they were largely ignored. Some cannot even get on a plane, today, without being called traitor.

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other “Party” media cannot seem to suppress the belief of millions of Americans who know the election was conducted in the grandest tradition of Venezuela. Americans who can see that our cherished right—the right to select our employees—has degraded to that of a Third World country using their very voting systems.

The worst part is I personally know of two young people who voted for the first time. I witnessed their disappointment as they they could even see the open corruption that basically nullified their vote.

As I reflect on the battle President Trump fought against his own party in the 2016 election, I can still see some hope.

I also see, however, dark days ahead. Possibly even civil war on a scale that would make Union and Confederate soldiers recoil in horror. I hope I am wrong in this part. Unfortunately we have allowed the “Deep State” propaganda machine to divide us. As parents, we allowed the “Department of Education” to ruin a school system by indoctrinating instead of educating. We didn’t pull kids out of the corrupt system and homeschool them. We don’t make them read a Constitution of the United States of America.

This does not apply to all of course. Many parents have turned to homeschooling or Charter Schools. Some have fought against the corrupt system.

It is my sincere hope and desire and prayer that I am wrong and that this is not the last days of the freest country in the world. Even though we have slowly let our rights and freedoms be eaten away by corrupt politicians who’s bank account seems to grow after their inauguration and swearing in ceremonies.

Very respectfully submitted.
