Actress Ellen Barkin: Another example of Hollywood intelligence

Opinion
Glen Davis

It is amazing how a person can open their mouth and utter such unintelligent tripe.

According NewBusters, Hollywood scientist Ellen Barkin, fetuses are not human because they cannot talk. Apparently some people who can talk are not human. Should we abort them?

Apparently she added the following to her Twit [Not a misspelling] account:

barkin

For years, real scientist have advocated speaking with your child before it is born. There is a belief that it strengthens the bond between parent and child. Parent web site explains that the the bones in the babies ears are developed around eighteen-weeks and may be startled by loud noises.

By twenty-five-weeks a child can start hearing the voice of you and your partner and begin to recognize your voices. Research suggests that the heartbeat of the baby slows when hearing the voice of the mother. The heart begins to beat at eight-weeks.

They even recommend doing things like running the vacuum so that the child can get used to it. Research suggests that doing so will help the child remain asleep when doing household chores.

Oh, and “News Flash…” Ellen. A baby is born with a very limited vocabulary. Yet, they have the instinctive ability to recognize their parents.

The point is that they are actually learning while in the womb.

And it gets worse. Some nurses who have gotten away from the abortion temples in the United States report they did so because they believed that the babies expressed horror when being aborted.

Gosnell movie gets amazing funding via Indeggo.

UPDATED: 4/30/14, 9:28

640px-GOSNELL_FB_Cover_plainDonald Sterling is now a household name. He is the Clippers owner who allegedly made distasteful racist remarks and is well-known for his donations to Democratic candidates and causes. His remarks, released by TMZ, have received massive media coverage. He was recently barred, apparently, from the NBA.

Kermit Gosnell is probably not a name known except to a select few. He was an abortion doctor in Philadelphia who delivered live babies and killed them by severing their spinal cord with scissors. He called the process “snipping.” He is not the only one at his clinic that conducted this process. It is alleged that sometimes his nursing staff and even administrative staff would conduct the snipping. It is unknown how many babies he snipped because he destroyed many of the records. He was only accused and convicted of a few of the murders and is now serving several life sentences.

The story of the Gosnell trial is not the trial itself, but the lack of coverage of the trial. CNN has become known as the missing plane network and all media outlets have donated various amounts of time to the Donald Sterling story. The benches reserved for the media at the Gosnell trial, however, were virtually empty. PBS and Associated Press did cover the trial and did a good report on the trial.

Spike Lee is also a household name. He is a movie producer who has produced some pretty good movies—including Malcom X—and made millions. His campaign on KICKSTARTER is making headlines for raising over $1.4M of $1.25M requested for his new movie which is apparently a thriller about vampires. There are no details about the movie on the site because it is a thriller. This so-called “crowdfunding” campaign has been covered by the various mainstream media agencies.

Phelim Mcaleer is not a household name either. He is a documentary producer who has three titles to date. His conservative documentaries are the ire of the “progressive” movement. Especially Not Evil Just Wrong which is an anti-global warming movie. It screened across the nation, but did not receive the press of other award winning documentary makers who support the progressive agenda.

The media also did not cover the amazing crowdfunding for Mcaleer’s latest effort through Indegogo. The movie Gosnell and is the story of the abortion doctor aforementioned. The campaign started on March 28 and has raised over $1.5M of the $2.1M sought. The movie is breaking records for funding through the web site.

The movie is being made for television so it is questionable what networks would run a film contrary to the present agenda.

The problem with HB 2284? Nothing, really.

OPINION by Glen Davis

EJ Montini of the Arizona Republic apparently has a problem with Arizona HB 2284. This bill would allow the Director of the Department of Health Services to inspect, or send a duly designated agent, to inspect abortion clinics if there is “reasonable cause” to believe they are violating the law or rules concerning abortion.

His argument is that they have this authority already if they obtain a warrant.

Mr. Montini does not seem to have a problem with warrantless searches of restaurants by county health departments. Especially to make sure they are adhering to an unconstitutional law against allowing smoking in their business.

I do not know if he has a problem with Obamacare guidelines which allow warrantless inspections of homes of “at risk” families. These include Veterans who have honorably served our country, homes with pregnant women under the age of 21, homes of student that have children with low student achievement, homes of tobacco users, families with substance abuse problems, and so-forth.

I do not know how you determine a student of low achievement since common core curriculum does not require you to get the right answer, but whatever…

This provision is not unusual. ARS 36-463.02 allows inspections of clinical laboratories. Although 36-495.07 does limit inspections of environmental laboratories to an annual occurrence, no warrant is required. ARS 36-855 allows the warrantless inspection of child care facilities by local or State health departments. We have mine inspectors and even a guy to run around and check railroad crossing signals. We can send police to find out why kids are not in school without a warrant.

The point is that any organization licensed to do business affecting the health and safety of the public, in some fashion, agreeing to warrantless inspections on the city, county or State level. It is rather difficult to understand why abortion clinics should be exempt.

(CNSNews.com) – In 2012, there were more black babies killed by abortion (31,328) in New York City than were born there (24,758), and the black children killed comprised 42.4% of the total number of abortions in the Big Apple, according to a report by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The report is entitled, Summary of Vital Statistics 2012 The City of New York, Pregnancy Outcomes, and was prepared by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Vital Statistics. (See  Pregnancy Outcomes NYC Health 2012.pdf)

Table 1 of the report presents the total number of live births, spontaneous terminations (miscarriages), and induced terminations (abortions) for women in different age brackets between 15 and 49 years of age. The table also breaks that data down by race – Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander, Non-Hispanic White, Non-Hispanic Black – and also by borough of residence: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island.

Putin Signs Abortion Advertisement Ban

President Vladimir Putin has signed a law banning advertisements for abortion, the Kremlin said, a step activists said would infringe on the reproductive rights of women.

Putin has made stemming a post-Soviet population decline a priority during 14 years in power and struck a conservative tone in his new term, praising what he calls traditional values and holding up the Russian Orthodox Church as a moral guide.

He has drawn fire from the West for a law he signed earlier this year that critics say discriminates against homosexuals.

ND Gears up for Legal Dispute on New Abortion Laws

North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple said his decision to sign strict new abortion laws, including the nation’s toughest restriction on the procedure, was not based on “any religious belief or personal experience” and that he believes legislators have a right to ask such questions about abortion restrictions.

The Republican governor signed three anti-abortion measures on Tuesday — including one banning abortions as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, or when a heartbeat can be detected. By doing so, Dalrymple positioned his oil-rich state as a primary battleground in the decades-old fight over abortion rights.

Within minutes of signing the laws, unsolicited donations began pouring into the state’s lone abortion clinic to help opponents prove the new laws are unconstitutional. The governor urged lawmakers to set aside cash for an inevitable legal challenge.

Petition against Obama birth control rules reaches the Supreme Court

Hobby Lobby is not the only private business represented in the 42 suits now pending against the mandate.

A Christian-run arts and crafts chain has filed for an emergency injunction with the Supreme Court to block President Obama’s birth control coverage rules.

Hobby Lobby and its founders, the Green family, filed the petition Friday after an appeals court rejected their motion for relief this week.

“Petitioners have been driven to seek such extraordinary relief three days before Christmas because the federal government has refused to acknowledge [their] sincerely held religious beliefs,” the petition reads.

At issue is the Affordable Care Act’s requirement that most employers cover a full range of birth control methods in their health plans without copay.

Hobby Lobby loses court battle on contraceptive mandate

A federal appeals court has denied Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby’s request to block a portion of the federal health care law that requires the company provide insurance coverage for emergency contraception pills.

The U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday denied the arts-and-crafts company’s request for an injunction while it appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Hobby Lobby’s lawsuit says the mandate violates the religious beliefs of its Christian founder and CEO David Green and his family. The Greens say requiring insurance coverage for the birth-control pills known as the “morning-after” and “week-after” pills forces them to either violate their religious beliefs or face hefty fines.

The federal appeals court ruling upheld a district court that found the religious burden to the Green family is indirect.

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty is assisting Hobby Lobby in its court battle. Spokesman Kyle Duncan says “The Green family is disappointed with this ruling.” However, he says the Greens will continue to make their case on appeal that this “unconstitutional mandate infringes their right to earn a living while remaining true to their faith.”

Missouri legislature upholds religious liberty bill.

On Sept. 12, the Missouri legislature voted to override Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of religious liberty bill, SB 749. The Missouri Catholic Conference, the public policy arm of the state’s bishops, strongly supported SB 749, adding that it “upholds religious liberty in a very practical way. Under this bill, no one can be forced to pay for surgical abortions, abortion-inducing drugs, contraceptives or sterilizations when this violates their moral or religious beliefs.”
