One more problem with those electric cars

It has recently been revealed that hybrid cars may not save you any money. Studies indicate that, when you factor in the price of the car and maintenance, it might take you decades to see any significant return. Even if gasoline prices were to reach $5 a gallon.

There is another problem which this surveillance video from December 30 shows. You might go so long between fillings that you forget where the gas cap is.

NOTE: I am aware that this is probably not a hybrid car. This is satire.

Ashton Carter as Secretary of Defense? Are you kidding me?

This has got to be some kind of “punk,” right? The guy from That ’70’s show as Secretary of Defense?

I mean I know appointees “retire” so quick on him that he has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find people. But does he have to pick a guy whose closest military experience has been to watch Demi Moore in A Few Good Men and that debacle GI Jane.

I guess he did do some Texas Ranger movie a few years ago. Come on. This is a guy who gets himself in trouble “tweeting.” I mean….

Oh. Wait a minute. That’s Ashton Kutcher. Sorry, dude. Go back to whoever you were punking.

Who is Ashton Carter?

Roger Corman’s Little Shop of Horrors

It isn’t Halloween without a Roger Corman classic. And this one is about as classic as it gets. The Little Shop of Horrors was remade into a horrible musical in the 80s, but this is the original version. This film stars Jonathan Haze who worked in only a couple of dozen other films. There are a couple of other faces, however, you may recognize.

You will, of course, recognize three-time Academy Award winner Jack Nicholson as the masochistic Wilbur Force. He went on to star in The Raven, another Corman campy classic staring Vincent Price and Boris Karloff. He was the Joker in the Batman movie by Tim Burton. And, of course, the President in Mars Attacks.

Another face you might recognize is the flower munching Burson Fouch, but you may not know his name. That is Dick Miller who also played third man at lunch counter (You’ll have to research that one). Miller has been acting since 1955 and has had bit parts and co-stared in movies and on television right up to the 2014 horror comedy Burying the Ex.
